Freshwater Tippet

Freshwater tippet is an essential component in fly fishing, used to extend the life of the leader and provide a smooth transition from the fly line to the fly. Tippets are usually made of fluorocarbon or nylon monofilament and come in various sizes and strengths to match the fly being used and the conditions of the water. A properly selected tippet will allow the fly to move naturally in the water, making it more attractive to fish. It also provides the angler with a higher chance of landing the fish since the tippet is typically the weakest link in the setup.
