Rising fish regularly fool anglers into thinking they should tie on the imitation of a mature insect. Often, however, those fish are feeding on the emerging insect as it rises to the surface or those insects that have reproduced and reached the end of their time. Having patterns for all phases of a hatch can be the difference between an epic hatch and leaving the water frustrated.
