YNP is in full summer swing, so break out the hoppers and large attractor patterns. The hot weather is accelerating terrestrial fishing, so don't be afraid to use ants, beetles, and hoppers. Dry fly fishing is really good right now, use attractor patterns if there are no hatches on the water and watch for rising fish, especially in the morning and evenings. Use a dry dropper rig to cover more water and target feeding fish. Stonefly nymphs, caddis pupa, and mayfly nymphs will be effective when targeting fish underwater. The Madison is getting warm in the afternoons, as well as the Firehole, so choose an earlier start time when fishing these warmer waters. The Yellowstone lake area is open as of July 15th.
