The Mo is your best option when it comes to rivers. The best method of fishing can change day to day. The cloudy rainy weather can make for some solid dry fly fishing with caddis and BWOs. A few of my favorite patterns for caddis are the Missing Link and the Goddard Caddis, for blue wings I like the Quil body Parachute and the Sparkle dun. Nymphing should be solid on any given day with worms down to caddis pupas, Scuds, sow bugs, and Beatis nymphs. Streamer fishing is the same as the dry fly fishing, It's going to be better on the darker cloudy days. Some shop favorites are Sparkle Minnows, Muddler Minnows, and Skiddish Smolt.

The Missouri River is formed with the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin rivers near Three Forks, Montana. The blue-ribbon stretches of the river are generally considered downstream in the “tail-water” sections, which are formed below several reservoirs. The best trout fishing section of the Missouri River is the stretch of river downstream from Holter Lake that our guides fish in the spring and early summer. Closer to Bozeman is the stretch of the Missouri River around Toston Reservoir which is a great mid-summer Carp destination that also holds a few large trout seasonally.
