Yellowstone River Fishing Report December 4, 2018

Yellowstone River Report 12/4/2018

Dec, 04 2018

The Yellowstone is now fishing pretty slow which will likely continue throughout the winter. The consensus is that fishing has been best between 1pm and 4pm. If you do see fish up a small parachute adams and a Griffiths Gnat will be a good go to. Streamer fishing will be a long shot with how cold the water has been. Nymphing will likely be the best bet throughout the winter now. Smaller natural mayfly beadheads and stonefly nymphs and San Juan Worms have been the best options. Lil' Spankers and Bead Head Pheasant Tails have been our favorites behind a Pat's rubberleg. Some hot bead patterns will likely produce a fish or two. Pretty chilly weather this week with high temperatures only in the mid 20's and lows down in the single digits. The weekend looks like it will bring some warmer weather with high temperatures in the mid 30's.
