Yellowstone River Fishing Report November 8, 2018

Yellowstone River Report 11/8/2018

Nov, 08 2018

The Yellowstone is definitely slowing down. The consensus is that fishing has been best between 1 and 4pm. BWO activity is decreasing rapidly and is nearly over. If you do se fish up a small parachute adams and the BWO Quill Gordon Parachute might trick them but the fish are likely looking for midges. Streamer fishing will be a long shot with how cold the water has gotten these last few days. Nymphing will likely be the best bet throughout the winter now. Smaller natural mayfly beadheads and stonefly nymphs and San Juans have been the best options. Lil' Spankers and Bead Head Pheasant Tails have been our favorites behind a Pat's rubberleg. High temperatures will be around 40 degrees tomorrow but back down to around 32 degrees after that. Be sure to check the wind on this river before you head out!

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Yellowstone River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
