Upper Madison Fishing Report 6/11/2018

Jun, 11 2018

The Upper Madison is starting to shape up. Flows are on the drop and currently sitting at 2,810 cfs at Cameron. The fishing above the West Fork has remained very good. It shouldn't be more than another couple days tell people start looking to the lower sections of the river. Nymphing has still been the best bet. Rubberlegs, Caddis Pupas, PMD nymphs, worms and buggers have all been producing fish. Make sure you target the slower moving water and use a good amount of weight with your nymph rigs.  Streamer reports have been on the slower side the last few days. Sounds like the white baitfish patterens have been the best bet. If you want to dry the dry fly game your best bet would be with Caddis in the evenings and possibly PMD's in the mornings in the near future.

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Upper Madison River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
