Upper Madison Fishing Report 5/14/2018

May, 14 2018

The upper Madison is now flowing at 2,590 cfs. This is down a bit, but the river is still high and muddy. With this being said, it looks fishable. The mud has pushed through Quake Lake so the water above the West Fork is now dirty too. People can, and will still catch plenty of fish pounding the bank with Black Rubberlegs and Buggers. The river just below Hebgen Dam will stay clear but has potential for a lot of anglers unless you get an early start to the day. The best option is to probably fish Hebgen, Cliff or Wade lakes.

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Upper Madison River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
