Upper Madison Fishing Report for March 5, 2018

Upper Madison Fishing Report 3/05/2018

Mar, 05 2018

The Upper Madison is warming up again and the fishing will be getting real good in the upcoming days. Stonefly Nymphs, San Juan Worms, Midge Pupas and Baetis Nymphs will be sure bets. The potential for some fantastic Dry Fly Fishing will increase every day. Midges will soon be hatching consistently enough to bring alot of fish to the surface. Be ready with a good selection of Clusters, Emergers and Single Adult patterns. These fish can get quite picky when they're rising. Some fish will start to move out of the lakes to spawn soon but right now the most productive water will probably be from Reynold's Pass to Lyon's Bridge. If the warmer weather keeps coming, the boat ramps will be accessible again soon.

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Upper Madison River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
