Upper Madison Fishing Report 11/8/2018

Nov, 08 2018

The upper Madison is starting to slow down. BWO activity will be minimal after this cold stint. You may see fish up but they will likely be after midges. Cluster midges and griffiths gnats have worked for fish these rising fish. Mayfly nymphs and stonefly nymphs will be quite effective along with midge or caddis pupa. A Pat's Rubberlegs followed by a small, size 16 or 18 mayfly or midge imitation has been doing well. Eggs and worms have both been producing. Cold weather the next few days with high temperatures around 32 degrees. Tomorrow will be rather nice with a high of around 40 degrees and partly cloudy conditions. Fishing will be the best in the afternoon.

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Upper Madison River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
