Spring Creeks Fishing Report 3/13/2019

Mar, 13 2019

The most recent reports from the spring creeks have been very good. Depending on the wind, there have been some productive Midge hatches mid day providing some decent dry fly fishing at times. People are just starting to see a few Baetis once in a while; that hatch will definately get better in the upcoming days as we stretch together some upper 30 to 40 degree days. The most productive method is still nymphing. Scuds, Sow Bugs, Midge Pupas, Eggs and now Baetis Nymphs will be working well. Keep an eye out for risers and have ready something you can see like a Parachute Adams and drop off something harder to see like a Midge Sprout. As the spawning activity increases try not to wade around much, especially in the riffle areas. There will be closed areas marked by orange pylons. Kind of like a do not disturb sign for trout. The creeks will be getting busy now, so it's a good idea to call before you make the drive to Livingston.

The Livingson Area Spring Creeks have limited rod availability. Be sure to call and make a reservation before you make the drive. Nelson's-(406) 222-6560, Armstrong's-(406) 222-2979, DePuy's-(406) 222-0221
