Missouri River Fishing Report 12/5/2018

Dec, 05 2018

Fishing on the Missouri has been pretty darn good from what we ahve heard. The Dry Fly action has been slow but with that being said, the swing game has been very productive with wooly buggers in olive and black with some crystal flash size 6 or 8. Nymphing has of course been good as it usually is this time of the year. Take your time getting out, fish are going to be most active in the afternoon. Slow moving deeper areas will be where the majority of fish are sitting. Flies like zebra midges, scuds, sowbugs, and worms are going to be the best options. Size 16-18 will be the best for those smaller flies and fon't be afraid to use a hot bead! Expect a bit of snow in Craig today but temperatures are back up in the 30's as of Friday!

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Missouri River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
