Lower Madison Fishing Report 3/13/2019

Mar, 13 2019

The Lower Madison is thawed out and fishable from the dam to warm springs access. Below warm springs was still pretty unfishable yesterday. The fishing will start to get real good these next few days as we continue to warm up a little more. The usual Winter fare including Scuds, Sow Bugs and Midge Pupas will still be most productive. Crawdads and Sculpins will become more and more important as we warm as well. There will be increased Midge activity too providing more and more dry fly opportunities late morning to mid afternoon depending on the wind situation. BWO's probably aren't too far off so start getting a small arsenal of Baetis adults and emergers ready for action. March Browns will be right behind the Baetis.

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Lower Madison River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
