Lower Madison Fishing Report 3/13/2018

Mar, 13 2018

The Lower Madison has been tough for the last two days.  This high pressure and high sun has made things difficult accross the board. Your best bet would be a nymph rig with a pink scud followed by a midge.  Combinations including a Crawdad, San Juan Worm or a small Sculpin have been getting a few fish to hand as well.  The Midge hatches have been thick but the fish havent been wanting to look up into the sun.  The fish are starting to move around a little, but the slower water still seems to be the most productive.  Tomorrow we should start seeing some more could cover by mid afternoon and I would assume/hope some better fishing.

Fins & Feathers is a full-service Bozeman fly shop and Montana fly fishing outfitter. Lower Madison River fly fishing trips are available year-round with our Bozeman fly fishing guides.
