Lower Madison Fishing Report 10/09/2017

Oct, 09 2017

The fishing has been good on the Lower the last few days.  Small Micro Mayflies and Ju Ju Baetis have been working well as a trailer behind either a Crayfish, sculpin or a worm. Don't hesitate to try an egg either.  The Baetis hatches have been getting a lot of trout feeding on the surface lately so don't forget a box with a handful of size 20-22 Baetis Duns and Parachute Adams (they have been tiny). The Streamer fishing has been fruitful for the folks that stick with it but the weeds are just enough that you can't cover all the water everywhere. White has been getting a lot of attention from the reports I have heard. If things seem kind of slow it might be time to switch over to Wintery stuff like Scuds, Sow Bugs and Midge Pupas.
