Special Rates

We offer a variety of special rates in addition to our standard full and half-day guided fly fishing options in Bozeman, Montana. These special itineraries are designed for anglers with intermediate to advanced fly fishing skills that are looking to focus their vacation on fly fishing the waters of Southwest Montana.

Basic Full Day Guided Trip - $550

The basic, full day guided float trip is for anglers that already have their own fly fishing gear and have previous fly fishing experience for trout. This price-point option does not include lunches, beverages or use of any fly fishing gear. The guide provides instructions, transportation to and from the river, flies, and terminal tackle (leader, tippet, floating, etc.) only If you do require lunches, drinks, and/or gear - you will want to book our standard full day trip which is all inclusive at $650 ad day per boat/guide.

Outfitter Guided Trip - $850

Toby Swank is the outfitter for Fins and Feathers and continues to spend many days on the water after guiding around Montana for the last 20+ years. He has fished around the world, has been an ambassador for many brands, served on a variety of industry boards, works closely with local and national conservation groups, and has guided thousands of anglers over the years. Although availability is limited, Toby is also available for booking in 2022, he runs a unique program that caters to anglers with intermediate to advanced skill sets

Essentially, Toby has been doing this as about as long as anyone in the area and has picked up more that a few tricks to help avoid crowds and fish waters that see less pressure. In addition to the standard float trip waters, Toby also uses a motorized boat to occasionally fish area lakes when conditions are ideal. If mid-summer heat is making trout fishing tough, he turns his attention to sight fishing for carp in the Missouri River Headwaters area. When you fish with Toby for the day, you must be flexible and open to whatever he thinks will provide the best angling for the day.   • Typical full day duration is 6-8 hours on the water.
  • Toby reduces the rate to $500 when trip duration is less than 6 hours on the water.
  • Experienced anglers as singles or pairs (no multi-boat or group trips).
  • Available June 15 - September 30 during mid-week days (Tuesday - Thursday).
  • All gear is provided (having your own essentials, wader, and boots is recommended)
  • Lunches, licenses, and gratuities are not included
  • Toby will pick the destination and plan for the day based on weather, conditions, and your preferences.
  • Anglers must be flexible with their plans in terms of meeting times and ending times as sometimes we meet very early (4:30 -5:00 am) during the summer while other days we might not start until noon.
  • Licenses, gratuity, lunches, and beverages are not included.
  • Use of equipment, flies, terminal tackle, and plenty of drinking water is included

Meeting times, destinations, and style of fly fishing depends on the conditions - guests should plan on being flexible for the best experience.)

Dawn Patrol Full Day Guide Trip - $750

Nothing helps avoid crowds like getting on the water early during the heat of summer here in Southwest Montana. Our "Dawn Patrol" guided fly-fishing trips around Bozeman are great options for the experienced angler looking to target large trout with steamers and dries on the Yellowstone, Madison, Gallatin, or Jefferson rivers July-September.

  • Start Time Between 4:30-5:30 AM (sometimes earlier)
  • 1-2 Anglers Maximum Per Guide/Boat
  • Float Trip Option Only
  • Trip Ends Between 2-4 PM
  • Yellowstone, Upper Madison, Gallatin, or Jefferson rivers
  • Recommended for Anglers with Intermediate to Advanced fly-fishing skills.
  • Available June 15 - September 30

(Price includes use of rods, reels, flies, and terminal tackle. We also provide non-alcoholic beverages, and lunches on Dawn Patrol Trips.)

Carp on the Fly - $750

One of our guide favorites during the dog days of summer in mid-July – mid-September is sight-casting to Carp on the upper Missouri River near Townsend, Montana.

  • Start Time Between 8-9 AM
  • 1-2 Anglers Maximum Per Guide/Boat
  • Float Trip Option Only
  • Trip Ends Between 3-5 PM
  • Available July 15 - September 15, condition dependent.
  • Upper Missouri River near Townsend (about 45 min drive each way)
  • Recommended for Anglers with Intermediate to Advanced fly-fishing skills.
  • Best on days with light winds and sunshine - standard guide trip is always our backup plan if the weather is not right for this fishery.
