Introductions to Fly Tying Class:
  • 3-week courses (typically Saturday afternoons)
  • Class limit of 5 students
  • Materials and use of tools provided
  • Basic techniques and foundational patterns emphasized
  • Cost is $100 per student

The “art” of tying flies seems more like “back-alley dark magic” to the untrained eye, but actually is much more attainable than one would expect. The fundamentals and techniques that are used to create any fly are all built upon the basics. Our introductory classes have been carefully refined over the last 20 years to deliver efficient instruction in an easy-going and concise format.

Built for intermediate to advanced fly tiers, our Tips for Tying Streamers class is designed to take your streamer tying to the next level. By introducing important techniques used to tie some of our favorite streamers for fishing in Southwest Montana, this class will help you tie more durable and productive streamers. You must sign up in advance to save a seat in a class that is limited to 5 people and the entry fee is only $50!
