Introducing, Patagonia's Upcycled Wader Program; crushing fly fishing's barriers to entry, and keeping fishable waders out of landfills.
For various reasons, waders are returned to manufacturers months, and sometimes even days after being purchased in a fly shop. These returned waders are carefully inspected for leaks and when necessary, repaired. Most of them are deemed fully functional but cannot make it back to the shelves of your local fly shop for reasons as little as a small stain. What happens to these perfectly good waders that are ready to help anglers catch fish? Nothing... Until Now.
Introducing, Patagonia's Upcycled Wader Program.
90% of the proceeds from a pair of Upcycled Waders from our Bozeman fly shop will go to Upper Missouri Waterkeeper. Beyond that, to buy a pair, the interested party must become a member of a national or local non-profit and take the Keep Fish Wet Pledge. Upper Missouri Waterkeeper, Trout Unlimited, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers etc.
This program will help get folks who can't afford $500 waders, a staple of fly fishing, into $500 waders for only $200, helping keep perfectly good waders out of the landfill.
