Fly Casting Tips - Avoiding “Creep”

Feb, 04 2019

"Creep" is a pretty common fly casting error that can really fowl up an anglers cast. A good amount of fly anglers are not even aware of this mistake but getting rid of it will greatly improve ones ability to cast a fly rod. If you have found yor forward cast to be slightly sloppy and lacking power, you may have a bit of creep in your cast. There is a simple solution to this issue, just step backward with the same side foot as your casting hand and watch your rod tip. Orvis has a great video starring Peter Kutzer and recent blog that explains how to avoid rod creep.
