Bozeman Fly Tying Classes | Fall 2017

Sep, 11 2017

Introductory fly tying classes are scheduled to start up again for the winter and spring of 2017/2018.  Join us one night a week at our Bozeman fly shop for 3 weeks as we have fun shaking the winter away by spending sometime at the vise, getting those boxes filled up once again. We include all the materials, use of tools, and handouts to go along with each session. You are more than welcome to bring your own tools and vice.

All of our instructors have been teaching folks how to tie for several years now and also tie commercially for the shop and our guides. We have a great time in these classes, so we hope that everyone that wants to learn about fly tying in Bozeman can join us!

This particular fly tying class focuses on the introductory stages of fly tying, so we’ll be going over the fundamentals to start with and wind up with some of the more complicated techniques and patterns. We cover several patterns each night, some traditional and some local, plus we explain how to fish them as well as how to tie them. There’s lot to learn when it comes to tying flies and this is a great way to learn the basics while also increasing you knowledge of fly fishing too!

This class is limited to 5 participants and will run for 3 consecutive weeks on Saturday afternoons at our Bozeman fly shop. The class starts at 3:00 and typically winds down by 5:30.

The cost for the 3-week session is only $50 and includes everything you need. Reserve your spot by e-mail or just call us at 406-586-2188 during normal business hours. The first session dates are Oct. 21,28, and Nov. 4.
